Historical legacy of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, rich history, architecture, pristine nature, seaside and SPA resorts are the main attraction points of Lithuania. Situated on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea, to the southeast of Sweden and Denmark. The capital and largest city is Vilnius and other major cities are Kaunas and Klaipėda. *Vilnius Old Town (map) – the old capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, largest baroque city in Northern Europe, is among the largest historical centres in Europe. *Curonian Spit (map) is a 98-km-long, narrow, sandy peninsula at the Baltic Sea, enclosing the Curonian Lagoon.
